The Best Restaurants in Barcelona for Digital Nomads

Bitacora: This tapas bar in Barceloneta (with a second location in Poblenou) offers traditional Spanish tapas with a playful twist. 

Blubar: Located right on the Rambla del Poblenou, this plant-based casual spot makes the best vegan snacks in town. Their terrace is always busy and they don’t take reservations, so get there early to grab a table. 

Cal Pep: This tapas bar in Born is one of the most popular spots in Barcelona, and often has a line of diners waiting for a seat at dinner time. Sit at the counter and order seafood shared plates for the full experience. 

Taverna El Glop: With several locations around the city, El Glop is a great place to try tasty Catalan cuisine for reasonable prices in a pleasant setting.  

Can Recasens: This restaurant on the Rambla del Poblenou is known for its unique decor, great wine selection and charcuterie plates. 

Granja Petitbo: This cozy bistrot is centrally-located on Passeig Sant Joan with great brunch options and tasty desserts. 

El Xampanyet: This popular hole-in-the-wall tapas bar in Born has been around since 1929.  

Parking Pizza: This pizza spot has some of the best pizza in the city. You should also try ParkingPita, their middle-eastern inspired pita restaurant on Passeig Sant Joan. 

Sensi Tapas: Grab a bite in the Gothic Quarter at this spot in the Gothic Quarter that serves their own original take on traditional Mediterranean tapas.   

El Nacional: Slightly obscured down a side street on the bustling Passeig de Gràcia, El Nacional is a vast, vaulted space made up of four different restaurants and four bars. 

The Best Bars for Digital Nomads in Barcelona

Antic Teatre: This semi-hidden garden bar attached to a performance venue is a great place to forget you’re in the city center and enjoy the sunshine, especially in the summer.

En Aparté: This French tapas bar on a quiet plaza in Born is the perfect spot to people watch with a quick drink or enjoy their great cheese selection and homemade desserts. 

Els Sortidors del Parlament: In this cozy wine bar in Sant Antoni you’ll find a great wine selection with many local Catalan wines, as well as some more unusual tapas, like quail egg tortilla.  

CocoVail Beerhall: Located just steps away from Casa Battló, Cocovail specializes in craft beer, burgers, and chicken wings. They host a variety of themed nights, including 50-cent wings on Mondays and Wine Wednesdays (any wine bottle for 10 euros). 

Bar Marsella This historic watering hole in the heart of Raval that specializes in absinthe. Legend has it that it was frequented by characters like Picasso and Hemingway back in the day.

Dr. Stravinsky: With a unique decor designed to look like an antique pharmacy, this cocktail bar in Born offers quirky and unusual cocktails in an upscale setting. 

BierCaB: Grab an IPA at this craft beer pub that boasts over thirty different brews on tap and a tasty burger selection. 

Bormuth: Just steps away from the Born Centre de Cultura i Memòria (CCM), Bormuth is a great tapas bar to sit and people watch in the heart of Born. 

Two Shmucks: This “5-star dive bar” in Raval first opened in 2018, and has regularly been included in World’s Best Bars lists in the years since. 

Bosc de les Fades: This whimsical bar with a unique forest decor and a fairytale theme near the bottom of the Rambla is probably not for everyone. But it’s the perfect spot if you want to feel the magic of stepping into an enchanted forest right in the city center. 

The Best Cafes for Digital Nomads in Barcelona

Sandwichez: It may not be trendy or cool, but Starbucks-inspired coffee chain Sandwichez is a great place to work. There are locations all over the city, they have Wi-Fi and plenty of outlets, and they really don’t mind if you spend many long hours there.

Nappucino Corner: Napuccino is a café designed especially for tired students and digital nomads–they even have napping pods you can use in the back to catch some quick shut-eye. Being able to take a quick nap in the middle of the day right in the coffee shop is truly the perfect combination.

Laie Libreria Café: Located only a couple of blocks from Plaça Catalunya, Laie combines a bookstore on the groundfloor with an upstairs café.  It’s peaceful and there are books everywhere.

Espai Joliu: It can get crowded, but the beautiful plant-filled space pushes this Poblenou spot to the top of our list. 

Caravelle: Great brunch, cute decor, and a nice atmosphere make Caravelle a lively place to work. 

The Best Coworking Spaces in Barcelona for Digital Nomads

Maui Beach Coworking: This bright, laidback office space in Poblenou is filled with natural light, only a short walk from the beach. They also have optional group activities for members, like their cooking club or sunrise paddleboard sessions. 

OneCoWork Plaça Catalunya: Out of all of OneCoWork’s locations (they have three in Barcelona),  this one stands out for its central location and beautiful terrace. 

Aticco Urquinaona: Aticco is a pleasant coworking space on the border between El Born and Eixample that also has a huge rooftop terrace with great views. They host weekly events and free talks for members. 

Betahaus: With five terraces, a café and lots of different office and desk configurations, this social coworking space has everything you could need. 

Quartdenou Beach Coworking: Quartdenou is a small coworking space in Barceloneta, 500 feet from the beach. They also have showers available for members who want to work out or go for a swim on their lunchbreak.
