Deep-rooted spirituality and a beautiful, calm environment position Bali as one of the world’s most favored spots when it comes to practicing yoga. This magical island is home to any number of unique yoga studios in breathtaking settings high up in the mountains or directly on the beach. Classes are available for all skill levels: ranging from beginners to those who can confidently differentiate their Bikram from their Kundalini. It doesn’t matter which part of Bali you’re based in: you’ll find impressive yoga studios far and wide.

Serenity, Canggu

Serenity is a jack of all trades when it comes to yoga. This eco-guesthouse offers everything from traditional yoga to aerial vinyasa with more than 10 classes per day. More of a lifestyle than a drop-in class, Serenity Yoga is part of the Serenity Eco Guesthouse, which offers a relaxed, retreat-style holistic experience, complete with a permaculture herbal garden and popular vegan restaurant. Serenity is home to several bamboo shalas, all nestled amongst the jungle palms, creating a sense of seclusion despite its busy location in the heart of Canggu. Start the day with a chakra flow at sunrise and end with a vinyasa sunset flow.

Yoga Barn, Ubud

Head to the dense jungle of Ubud and in its heart, you’ll find Yoga Barn. This tropical oasis is a mecca for self-discovery and healing, with a focus on personal restoration at the epicenter of each class. Balinese culture is at the forefront of Yoga Barn’s practice, using a blessed Hindu tradition inspired by its surroundings. Yoga Barn has seven studios in total, each offering daily yoga, meditation, dance, and sound healing sessions. The natural, tropical environment allows you to connect with the earth and open up to inner transformation.

The Practice, Canggu

The Practice may be one of Bali’s most centrally-located yoga studios but it doesn’t seem like it once you’re breathing calmly from its open-air bamboo setting, surrounded by peaceful rice field views.

A place that excels when it comes to everything from traditional and powerful Asanas to Pranayama and Meditation, The Practice’s classes are based on the original teachings of Hatha Yoga and the principles of Moon, Sun, and Fire. Expect complete immersion at this five-star center.

An ideal studio to join if you’re traveling a lot, The Practice has both an in-person and online membership. During your time in Canggu, make the most of the experienced teachers, free weekly community events, and the variety of classes.

Power of Now Oasis, Sanur

Sanur’s calm environment comes to life at Power of Now. This beachfront yoga shala is based in an entirely-bamboo treehouse inside the Mercure Resort Sanur. Set on white sands facing the calm ocean, it offers everything from health retreats to teacher training workshops, holistic wellness, and daily yoga classes. It’s one of the most popular yoga studios in Sanur and has a well-established reputation with both locals and tourists.

It’s a brilliant spot for new yogis in particular, with a safe environment that embodies Bali’s healing nature. Airy and relaxing, the best days here are spent meditating on the upper floor before heading down to enjoy an organic juice on the lower deck, surrounded by its vibrant garden. There’s also a library, teahouse, and studio.

Intuitive Flow, Ubud

Follow your intuition towards Intuitive Flow in Ubud. With beautiful scenery and a friendly vibe, this studio invites everyone to get involved with slow movement through a variety of yoga classes and retreats. Alongside those daily classes, Intuitive Flow offers intense workshops and yoga teacher training courses. It’s one of the most popular yoga studios in Bali, particularly for those looking to further their yoga education, with many 200- and 300-hour training schools throughout the year. But, if you’re just practicing for fun, there are beginner classes, guided meditations, Yin yoga and Vinyasa flows to tick all the boxes.

Morning Light Yoga, Uluwatu

You’ll struggle to find anywhere more relaxing to start your day than Uluwatu’s Morning Light Yoga. Set in Bali’s southernmost point, you’ll admire the lush jungle views from one side and the Indian Ocean from the other. This open-air studio is captivating from the moment you arrive to the Shavasana at the end of class, offering a tranquil setting to find your flow and rebalance your mind. Inspired by nature, Morning Light’s shala is undeniably idyllic. Come along for the daily classes or join one of the studio’s retreats to delve deep into your practice from the serenity of Uluwatu.

Blue Earth Village, Amed

Head to Bali’s east coast to discover Amed, a black sand paradise that’s less frequented by tourists. Here, you’ll find Blue Earth Village’s one-of-a-kind yoga deck, with breathtaking views across to Gunung Agung and the Jemeluk Bay. The bamboo shala is elevated on Amed’s coastline, surrounded by palm trees and a backdrop of the ocean.

Blue Earth Village isn’t just a yoga studio: it also has a community hub inviting long-term residents and travelers to share their passion. This studio has a strong connection with the earth and the ocean, drawing upon the peace and power of both these natural elements. It’s one of the most amazing places to practice yoga in Bali, either through the carefully curated group yoga sessions or the private meditation. As you relax, you’ll hear the sounds of the waves with zero distractions.

Samadi Bali, Canggu

Most travelers set up camp in Canggu during their time in Bali, so it makes sense that a large number of popular yoga studios are nearby. Located near the iconic Echo Beach, Samadi Bali offers a range of yoga training, breathwork, sound healing, and guided meditations.  Once you’ve finished your class or training, there’s also a popular onsite cafe, which serves fresh, healthy, and organic vegetarian and vegan food. Visit on a Sunday morning for the weekly farmers’ market, which supports the local community and promotes healthy and sustainable shopping.
